Since you have Ferrel in there, I'm going to assume you mean "of all time."

For me, no question, it's:

I really have never watched SNL. Whenever someone described a skit, they'd have me laughing my guts out. When I went to WATCH the show, it was sort of...eh...not that entertaining.

Having not seen many of the cast, I simply can't list a favorite. There are many who had a hilarious character or two, but there wasn't anyone with enough draw to keep me coming back to my tv for more every week.

I'd love to see a 4 hr special of "The Best Skits Ever" or something like that....but I likely won't ever put the show on my (poor-man's) tivo. I think most of my favorite skits have been the fake commercials.

I think the cast member that's created the most annoying character has to be Molly Shannon.

I'm tempted to second Bill Murray but I've got to go with Eddie Murphy. SNL doesn't get much better than Mr Robinson's neighborhood.

Can't argue with the choice.

So I own the Comedy Spot but when I was younger I hated Saturday Night Live. Yes, hated. My friend Josh used to make me watch it and then do dirty things to me when I fell asleep.

Anyway, I just didn't get Saturday Night Live back then, but now I have a lot more respect. I would say a lot of the sketches aren't great. But they only have one week to put the show together. For a while we did a new show a week and it was grueling. I would say about 40 percent of our shows were funny. But that 40 percent still gets talked about six years later.

I think SNL is the same. You watch for the 40% of greatness, rehearsed around the clock for a week, and then aired live where anything can happen.

I am amazed at how many great films have been created by former cast members of Saturday Night Live. Truly amazing talented people.

That's exactly why I'd prefer to watch a "Greatest" or "Best Of" compilation. I know they do some awesome skits, but I don't have the patience to sit through the other 60% of it all. The problem would be getting someone with my exact taste in humor to put it all together. :)

"Too bad" is a bit of an understatement. That was a goddamned tragedy.
